(Fremont County, WY) – Following the tragic and sudden death of Lander Mayor Monte Richardson on February 12th, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon has granted authorization for Fremont County officials to fly Wyoming’s flag at half-staff on Friday.
“Governor Mark Gordon has authorized local elected officials in Lander and Fremont County to lower the Wyoming flag to half-staff in honor of Mayor Richardson on Friday (Feb. 21, 2025),” the Governor’s office told County 10 in an email.
The authorization, following flag protocol, includes only the Wyoming flag and only in Fremont County.
A memorial service for Mayor Richardson is also scheduled for Friday.
