(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, June 19, will see hot temperatures and sunny skies, which will remain during the next couple of days, along with an increase in west/southwest winds as the pressure gradient increases.
As the ridge axis shifts to our east, the “resulting very warm breeze will feel like a furnace,” Lipson advises. Lipson added that today is shaping up to be the hottest day of the year so far. West/southwest winds will gust up to 15 to 25 mph, with clear to partly cloudy conditions tonight, at which point the winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph, and a few gusts up to 35 mph.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also advised that today begins the first day of elevated to critical fire weather conditions for the southern half of the area. There is also a low chance of isolated storms across the Bighorn Basin this afternoon
High temperatures will be in the 70’s and 80’s today, with lows tonight in the lower 50’s.
