(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has shared that both the Lander and Wind River areas recorded 82 mph wind gusts before 11 AM, March 12, as high winds continue to blow across the state.
Other locations/wind speeds of note are 68 mph on South Pass, 72 mph in Wyopo, 57 mph on US 287 Beaver Rim, 78 mph at the Riverton airport, 69 mph in Sinks Canyon, and 76 mph on WY 28 Red Canyon. The most significant gust recorded was 95 mph on the Chief Joseph Pass on WY 296.
The NWSR’s High Wind Warning for today remains in effect through 9 PM.
