(Riverton, WY) – Sherette Lujan was sentenced to six months imprisonment at his sentencing hearing held today, November 25, overseen by the Honorable Judge Alan B. Johnson in the District Court of Cheyenne.
Lujan was also sentenced to three years of supervised release, and was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment fee and $2,304.33 in restitution.
Lujan was arrested on June 15 after breaking out numerous glass windows and door panels inside the Riverton Post Office, and was subsequently federally charged with felony injury or depredation to United States property.
He also admitted to law enforcement during subsequent questioning that he had ingested “abnormally potent” methamphetamine prior to the incident.
Lujan initially pled “not guilty” to the charge back in early August, but a non-public plea agreement was filed on August 19, and a change of plea hearing was then held. He went on to plead “guilty” to the charge, as per the agreement stipulations, and a November 22 sentencing date was set. The hearing was ultimately rescheduled for today, November 25.
