An evening of free family fun, great food and community connection is returning to Riverton as National Night Out 2026 invites residents to come together with local first responders for one of the community’s favorite summer traditions.
Hosted by the Riverton Police Department and Riverton Fire Department, National Night Out will take place Tuesday, August 4, from 4 to 7 pm at the Riverton Fire Station, 404 S. Broadway Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
Families can enjoy an evening filled with carnival games, prize drawings, pulled pork, hot dogs, chips and soda, all provided free of charge. The event is designed to bring neighbors together while allowing community members to meet the police officers, firefighters, EMTs and other first responders who serve Fremont County every day. Chief Eric Hurtado said this year’s event will once again feature demonstrations, emergency vehicles, games, food and opportunities to interact with local public safety agencies in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that strengthens partnerships between law enforcement and the neighborhoods they serve. By encouraging positive interactions and open conversations, the event helps build trust, promote safety awareness, and foster a stronger sense of community.
Whether you’re climbing aboard a fire truck, visiting with local officers, enjoying a meal with your family or simply catching up with friends and neighbors, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
