(Fremont County, WY) – The red flag warning from this weekend has been continued into today, July 29, after the National Weather Service in Riverton issued a warning that is in effect from noon until 8pm tonight.
The affected areas include Fremont, Natrona, Hot Springs, Johnson and Washakie Counties.
Low humidities (as low as 13%), warm temperatures (80’s and lower 90’s), and gusty winds (up to 40 mph) could cause erratic fire behavior.
Winds are expected to decrease Monday night into Tuesday morning.
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong wind, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.”
