(Summit County, Utah) – The search for 60-year-old missing man Brent Layman has come to a tragic end, after his remains were discovered in Utah on March 6.
On Friday, March 7, the Lander Police Department shared the following message on its Facebook page.
County 10 reached out to Layman’s daughter Tenaya, who confirmed that he passed away, and that his body was “found buried in snow not too far from where his car was found.”
Layman was last seen in Lander, Wyoming, on December 1, and the last time anyone was in contact with him was on December 12, which resulted in a multi-state attempt to locate being issued on December 27.
His car was later found near Coalville, Utah on January 2, but Layman was still reported missing at and since that time.
In a message sent to/shared on the Missing People of Wyoming Facebook page, Tenaya said the following:
“I’m deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brent Layman. Brent was last seen mid-December in Lander, WY. His vehicle was later found in Utah. Despite countless searches, his remains were not found until yesterday, close to where the vehicle was found.”
“We miss him and he will always be in our hearts. I hope he is reunited with my mom as well as his parents. Until we meet again. Love you Dad; thank you to everyone who shared the posts and story and reached out while he was missing. The family truly appreciates that and felt the love.”
