(Riverton, WY) – Riverton early-risers and caffeine enthusiasts have another option for grabbing their favorite beverage.
A Riverton coffee staple for decades, Java Java’s Main Street location has steadily maintained two drive-thru lines of customers in either direction. Recently, the establishment announced partnering with the Rise and Shine Airport Cafe providing beverages to morning travelers. Now, fans can stop by and see their 716 Spencer Street location (on the corner of Spencer and N. Federal Blvd.) And don’t worry, the other location isn’t going anywhere!
On Tuesday, April 1st a crowd of Riverton business owners and community ambassadors gathered to welcome the new shop. Riverton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cindy Roden rolled a large piece of red ribbon across the building’s exterior, while Manager Jaidyn Herron-Apodaca used the oversized pair of scissors to ceremoniously slice through that ribbon. A brief applause was followed by conversation and, of course, a hot beverage for many.
Java Java Owner Carla Apodaca approached the Riverton City Council in early 2024 with a request for EDGE (Economic Development Funding.) The EDGE committee and City Council agreed to fund $48,000 to help support the approximately $240,000 effort.
The new facility will allow the hiring of eight new employees, bringing the total amount of Java Java staff to 16 according to Apodaca. “We’re happy to be busy at our Main Street location and looking forward to expanding our services,” she remarked at Tuesday’s ribbon cutting. Carla told County 10 that they’re currently accepting applications for part-time employees.
Like the Main Street location, the North Federal spot will be drive-thru only. Currently, the store is open 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. six days a week, excluding Saturday.
