(Fremont County) – Veterans Day 2025 takes place tomorrow, November 11, and there are a number of events/opportunities for folks in the 10 to show their appreciation to those who have served our country and made countless sacrifices for our freedom.
- In Lander, Veterans Day begins with the annual 5 AM cannon fire tradition, followed by the breakfast/lunch the VFW puts on for the community, then Lander Valley High School’s assembly at 1 PM. LVHS will also be presenting its Alumni Military Honor Recognition Wall. Local Boy Scout troop members and folks from the VFW/American Legion will be out today raising flags for the Avenue of Flags. - Riverton will kick things off with First Interstate Bank’s annual Veterans Breakfast at the Fremont Center, Fremont County Fairgrounds, from 7:00-10:15 AM. This is followed by the annual Veterans Day Parade. Parade line-up begins at 10:15 a.m. at S. 1st Street between The Depot Restaurant and the BMO bank parking lot, and taps will be played at 10:55 AM sharp before the parade begins at 11:00 AM. Click here for all the details. Central Wyoming College’s Theatre Department will also be hosting its third annual Veterans Day Concert in the Robert A. Peck Arts Center Theatre at 7 PM. - The annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Path of Honor – Wind River Veterans Memorial in Fort Washakie will take place at the Path of Honor, located at the Frank B. Wise Business Center (3 Ethete Rd.). A coat and clothing/shoe giveaway for Veterans and their families wraps up today at the Frank B. Wise building as well, which goes on until 4 PM.
- Schools across the 10 will also be celebrating Veterans with various breakfasts, lunches, and/or assemblies. Check out the slideshow below for details on the events County 10 is aware of.
