Fremont County, Wyo. (June 1, 2026) – SageWest Health Care has released its 2025 Community Benefit Report that highlights the hospitals’ ongoing contributions to the health and well-being of the Fremont County area.
The report outlines key initiatives and investments made throughout the year to strengthen local healthcare access, support economic growth, and improve the quality of life for residents across the region.
“The most essential benefit of our hospitals occurs when a patient walks out of one of our facilities healthier than when they came in,” said Amanda Vick, CEO of SageWest Health Care. “But as this report details, over the course of a year, SageWest Health Care has a tremendous impact on the broader community as a large employer, taxpayer, provider of charitable care, and supporter of local organizations.

Expanding Services, Investing in Care
The report highlights SageWest Health Care’s continued efforts to meet the region’s evolving healthcare needs by recruiting new providers, expanding clinical services, and investing in medical technology and infrastructure.
In 2025, SageWest Health Care welcomed six affiliated providers across several specialties, including Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, and Obstetrics. The hospital also invested in several capital improvements, including fetal monitors, heating and water system upgrades, patient beds, surgical lights, and ultrasound equipment.
Supporting Patients and Strengthening the Local Economy
SageWest Health Care also provided more than $22 million in charitable and uncompensated care, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring patients have access to care regardless of their ability to pay.
Supporting the local workforce remained another key priority. In 2025, the hospitals distributed more than $27 million in salaries, wages, and benefits to approximately 260 full-time employees. SageWest also invested more than $170,000 in professional development and tuition assistance, helping employees advance their skills and continue improving patient care.
Partnering with the Community
The report also highlights the hospital’s broader economic impact as a taxpaying operation. In 2025, SageWest paid more than $4.5 million in provider, payroll, property, and sales taxes, contributing to the region’s economic stability and growth.
SageWest Health Care also continued supporting numerous local organizations and community initiatives, including Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming, Central Wyoming College Nursing Program, Child Development Services, Community Entry Services, Eagle’s Hope Transitions, Farm and Ranch Days, Fremont County Baby Shower, Fremont County Cattlemen’s Association, Fremont County Employment Expo, Fremont County Fair, Fremont County Law Enforcement, Friends of Fremont County Fair, Help for Health Hospice, Kiwanis of Lander, Lander Care and Share Foodbank, National Night Out, PAWS, Rendezvous Balloon Rally, Riverton Chamber First Responder Appreciation Baskets, Riverton Christian Food Storehouse, Special Olympics, and Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative.
“Our teams in Lander and Riverton live and work in the communities they serve, so we readily volunteer to support organizations that share our commitment to improving the lives of those who call Fremont County home,” Vick added.
