(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, March 25, a ripple moving east within the strong westerly flow aloft in the jet stream will give us very windy conditions, with southwest winds increasing to 35 to 45 miles per hour and gusts of 50 to 55 miles per hour.
These strong southwest winds will usher in record-breaking high temperatures in the low 80s under sunny skies, and the combination of these winds, warm temperatures, and low relative humidity (down to 13%), along with dry vegetation still in winter dormancy, will result in high fire danger today. The NWSR Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 9 PM.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with lows around 40 degrees and west winds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. A cold front is expected to sweep across the area late tonight as well.
