(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, October 26, will be partly sunny and windy, with southwest winds gusting to 45 mph, and some isolated gusts of 50 mph.
As a Pacific Trough and associated Pacific cold front approach the area, we should see isolated showers in the afternoon, especially in southern Fremont County, including Beaver Rim and Jeffrey City, Lipson added. Precipitation will fall as snow in the Wind River Mountains, including 3 to 6 inches of snow by the end of the day on Togwotee Pass and an inch or less on South Pass. Tonight will see scattered rain and snow showers under partly cloudy skies, wth snow showers continuing in the mountains due to a westerly upslope flow behind the cold front and trough.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of Fremont County, which will remain in effect until noon tomorrow, October 27.
High temperatures will be in the 50s for most today, with lows tonight in the 30s.
