(Riverton, WY) – Several community members came out to celebrate a sunny morning and sandwiches Thursday at Riverton’s West Main Street Subway location.
New owners, Georgia Davis and Luke Walker were greeted by the Riverton Chamber of Commerce for the official welcome and a ribbon-cutting re-opening ceremony.
Davis had been working at Subway for roughly three and a half years before taking over as a co-owner. “I was working for the people who owned it previously and I heard the opportunity purchase it came up and I inquired about it,” she explained. “I asked for a loan at the bank, we got the loan, and here we are!” The new owners are a family duo, Walker is Georgia’s grandson.
Riverton hot air balloon pilot Pat Newlin added festiveness and a burst of toasty flame to the event as Davis described to the onlookers, “it’s really a lot of fun making sandwiches, I had no idea how much fun it was.” She concluded, “we hope to serve a lot of happy customers.”
Subway, at 900 W. Main in Riverton, is open 7 days a week from 7a-9p Monday thru Friday, 8a-9p Saturday’s and 9a-9p Sunday’s.
